The last rum race for the year, gusting 30 plus at Bean and when Polaris turned the corner for the beat to Orakei from Rough Rock, she mowed the fleet down and spat them out the back. With a number 2 and very comfortable we were well on our way to winning when the mast gave way, buckling below the spreaders. No one was hurt but its extremely bad luck at Christmas. Anyone got a mast sitting around, get in touch with Trev
